Keeping the puzzle together.

February 24th, 2011 by Ruth

I’ve committed myself. Not to the asylum. But to getting my butt into shape and loosing those few extra pounds, and within the next two months. You wouldn’t believe it, but today, I just said no to a FRENCH FRY. This is coming from a former fat kid who asked for a bag of McDonalds french fries for my 12th birthday. Enough said.

Clearly, I am watching what I eat. Never a calorie counter, I now use my Weight Watchers Points calculator in tandem with the Lichi Super Fruit Diet. Powered by super- fruit and antioxidant lychee, the supplement reduces visceral (stomach area) fat and increases energy and fat oxidation. Additionally, I spin, take core strengthening classes, hot vinyasa and bikram classes four times a week.

If I keep these pieces of the puzzle connected for two months, I’m confident that I will feel comfortable in my skimpy two piece by Mother’s Day. Stay tuned for updates!

My close family, friends and colleagues all know about my Weight Watchers obsession. I’ve lost many pants sizes and maintained my figure by counting points and utilizing HungryGirl.com. This informative web site provides product recommendations, recipes, tips, and tricks for all the hungry chicks out there. Tonight, I plan to make a Hungry Girl lasagna that has less than 250 calories and four points per serving! But don’t be turned off – I promise it’s so delicious that my boyfriend will not even notice the difference. This recipe is also easy on the wallet as it calls for a number of ingredients that are kitchen staples.

I’ve made this my own by weaving in extra nutrition with roasted garlic, zuchini, mushrooms and onions. This isn’t an exact science and I used whatever I had in my refrigerator. Check out the recipe to see for yourself how delicious 250 calories can be! (more…)
