Dying in a Rachel Zoe-kind of way.

March 29th, 2010 by Catherine

Picture 1As a devoted follower of the gospel according to Rachel Zoe, I tend to gravitate towards anything she recommends. I truly admire her fearless approach to fashion, which, to a certain degree, translates quite well in real life. Her line for QVC is a perfect example of that translation. Everything is super wearable, but priced accessibly for those of us without the budget of Rachel Zoe. My top pick from her new line is this gorgeous Slouchy Square Hobo in a zesty Burnt Orange. What a great find for spring! It’s roomy enough to tote around all my stuff, without looking as though it needs wheels to lug everything.

With New York Fashion Week just about to wrap up, I can’t help but have Fall on the brain. One of my favorite looks came from Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief event, which benefitted relief efforts in Haiti. Styled by Rachel Zoe, the show was a nonstop rush of celeb sightings both on and off the runway. Each model sported a crisp, shimmery white called Diamond District from Dashing Diva’s collection of oh-so-hot nail colors. The color, which surprisingly flattered everyone’s skin tone, is available for a bargain-friendly $6 here.

Daily Diamond: Derek Lam One Shoulder Dress

One Shoulder Twist Dress by Derek Lam, $2690.00

Earlier in the day, I mentioned that I’m after a new dress for my upcoming birthday party in Atlantic City, NJ. And while I remain dedicated to living well and spending wisely, a girl can dream can’t she? That is, after all, why we pick and choose our Daily Diamonds every weekday.  Stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe was the first to feature this dress in her daily Zoe Report, and ever since, I haven’t been able to get it off my mind. It’s Grecian perfection, no? It’s also a great example of designs that transcend the passing of trends. Can’t you imagine Bianca Jagger dancing the night away at Studio 54 in the 70s? I’d like to imagine I, too, will be dancing the night away for my birthday party, but somehow, I have a feeling the $2690 price tag is going to stand in my way.
