I tend to rarely purge my closet. Reasoning being, I am notorious for pairing oldies with new gems. I purchased these white bermuda shorts a few years ago for under $50 at Nordstrom, scored the top and Coach heels at Macy’s for $40 and $100, respectively. Both fantastic, smart purchases, the shoes can be worn from spring through the end of summer and when paired with gray pants and a casual blazer, the shirt will take me into the winter.

Reminiscent of those heart shaped sticker earrings I used to have when I was 4 years old, these Marc by Marc Jacobs Heart Earrings take me back to the days of play dates and cooties. Simple, sweet, and stunning, don’t you think?

Chiskates, the countdown begins. As Women’s Wear Daily mentioned, in less than 30 days, Nicole Richie’s new clothing line, Winter Kate, will debut at global retailers including Nordstrom, Ron Herman, Intermix, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Saks and Kitson.
The 40-piece collection of vintage-inspired dresses, tunics, vests, and bed jackets, all have that certain style Nicole Richie has made look effortless over the years. If her past designs are any indication, I’m positive I will love the Winter Kate collection as much as House of Harlow 1960. However, something tells me that I should have started saving for these Daily Diamond-worthy pieces about, hmmmm…a year ago.

Just A Cheap Shirt Plaid Flannel Shirt, Nordstrom.com, $79
Currently, there is nothing hotter than men wearing a lumberjack flannel with a tie and a vest. While most of the men in my life would never rock a vest and tie with a flannel, many will definitely incorporate a flannel into their wardrobes. Taking a fresh outlook on the classic red, blue and white flannel print, why not liven things up with splashes of teal and red?
Above is one of our favorite from Nordstrom. This narrow fitted shirt is perfect for the slimmer man in your life. Soft and cozy, this lively shirt will brighten the day while providing warmth.

Enzo Angiolini "Zakari" Boot, $119.90
My first intro to over the knee boots came courtesy of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Remember that scene when she zipped up those patent kicks with a safety pin? Well, when I heard that the trend was circling back for an encore, that’s what I had in mind. Lucky for me (and every other woman not down with, um, street wear), the second coming of over-the-knee boots is a whole lot more demure, with a whole lot of style. Ranging in design from sky-high platforms to daytime-appropriate flats, these boots are incredibly versatile, and with the right look, can look incredibly chic. A word of warning though – this trend isn’t entirely for the faint of heart. It works best on longer-legged gals and an overall paired down look to avoid potential Pretty Woman jokes. These ones from Enzo Angiolini are a great option if you’re not sure the trend is for you. With a foldable collar, you can slowly work your way up over the knee until you’re comfortable rocking super-tall boots, but are slouchy enough that you’ll still be able to wear them long after the trend has come and gone again.

The Virgin Megastore space at One Union Square South is the future location Nordstrom's Rack, opening next spring.
I saw the sign hanging prominently in Union Square announcing Nordstrom Rack’s arrival to New York City. It opened my eyes to new affordable shopportunities in USQ that will seriously change where I purchase my essentials. Attracting the recessionista crowd, the thriving 14th street shopping row notorious for steals and deals is now teeming with chic thrills.
Located at One Union Square South (the old Virgin Mega store location), the new home will carry the same brands and styles as Nordstrom, but at 50% to 60% off their original prices.
Nordstrom already operates eight full-line stores and three Racks in the tri-state area. The new shop between Broadway and Fourth Avenue will span 32,136 square feet.

Denim leggings are one of the hottest accessories on the market right now. Everyone from Beyonce to Lady Gaga are wearing them but I was never sure that they were the right look for me. After finding out that they usually retail for about $30, I was instantly turned off. That is until I came across a pair by Hue on sale at Nordstrom for $9.00!
Printed to look like navy or black denim, these jersey knit ankle-length leggings are now a wardrobe staple. They are incredibly fashionable, easy to wear, and look amazing. I’m glad I waited to purchase the leggings – I was able to find out that they were the right fit but at my budget!
