comfy isn’t chic {in this instance}.

So, maybe this isn’t the most flattering outfit. The skirt (Target) is a tich too big, the shirt is shapeless (just like I like it), and perhaps heels would have been better than the silver Calvin Klein flats. But hey, I have my fair share of BAD days too. What I do like is the texture of this shirt and the fact that I got it for $12 at Marshalls. I also love this bejeweled J.Crew necklace. How would you wear your favorite t-shirt and skirt?

These images are from a photo shoot with Casey Carter of Casey Culture on Bond Street at Lafayette. I love the charm of the brick streets and how the color of them matches the gray Calvin Klein dress. I’ve had this dress for some years now and it’s become my go-to when I want to be comfortable yet stylish. I like to pair muted colors with a pattern and lately, I’ve become fond of animal prints — the Charter Club cardigan was a perfect match. I purchased it for under $20 at Macy’s. The wellies are from British company, Wedge Welly. They’re incredibly comfortable and have a cute little wedge that makes you feel a bit sexier than the average rain boot does. The necklace is one of my favorites – a smart $50 purchase at the J.Crew outlet store, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn it. I pair it with just about anything when I want to spice up an outfit and feel a bit more sophisticated.

With an important business meeting coming up in a few days, I needed to nab something meeting-appropriate that wouldn’t just look professional, but also tailored and stylish enough to work for less buttoned-up days, too. I found this incredible number from Bloomingdale’s, and I can’t remember the last time I got this excited about a meeting. I’m particularly fond of the figure-flattering belt, but also its goes-with-anything khaki fabric and classic cut. This dress won’t just get me through next week; I expect this will become my next new go-to outfit when I need to quickly get dressed.

There are so many reasons why I love warmer weather. For one, my skin just looks better with a little extra moisture in the air. Living just get simpler with easy outdoor barbecues and cocktail parties. I also love how effortlessly chic clothes are. There’s no need to layer, no need for thick sweaters and no need for bundling up against arctic air.

Many a time have I declared that I adore dresses, but this one in particular makes my heart beat a little faster. Calvin Klein just made summer days and nights a little more chic with this new (and under $100!) one shoulder cotton stretch dress. The strategically-placed pleating flatters any body shape (hurrah! No more shapewear!) and has pockets which, in my opinon, instantly make any outfit so much more adorable.

Summer can’t last long enough, can it?
