November 11th, 2011 by Ruth

was super excited to find out about the opening of the co-ed co-op floor at barneys. super cool concept with the most stylish finds. here’s me with the lovely chris white (court & hudson), inspiring casey carter (caseyculture) and tell-it-like-it-is eileen dautruche (misswhoeverur).

not only did i have my numbers read by a super accurate numerologist, but the bumbys gave me a fair and honest appraisal of my appearance. they gave my look a 9.4, hopefully that’s out of 10 ;)

j’aime le labo labdanum 18

May 11th, 2011 by Ruth

In a world consumed by spreading efficiencies across all areas of life, we strip the craft necessary to create products boasting with pride. However, as mass production flourishes, a niche group of people continue to meticulously work at refining their craft. As Fabrice the creator of Le Labo put it, “There is fast food and slow food; Le Labo is the slow, opinionated restaurant of perfume.” With no cap on cost, Le Labo is the purveyor of exceptional fragrances that shock the senses once the bottle is open.

Open to the public, their laboratory hand crafts each fragrance as ordered, ensuring only the freshest ingredients are used to produce the purest of scents. I worked with the Barneys and Le Labo team to receive Labdanum 18. This androgynous fragrance is royal and sexy, creating an intoxicating experience that ignites the senses. As I tend to be drawn to more masculine scents, I find this fragrance to provide a nice balance. Perfect for the day and into the evening, I will enjoy this fragrance throughout the summer.

One thing is certain, j’aime Le Labo Labdanum 18!

Daily Diamond: Spring flats.

March 10th, 2010 by Ruth

I seriously have not bought one single, solitary piece of clothing or shoes all winter. I’ve been relying on past wardrobes and do my best to make my style relevant. Well, after all this saving and refraining from materialistic acquirements, I think I deserve a little somethin’ for keeping my belt tight. I’ve made my choice, and will bring one of these lucky pairs to join my closet one day soon!

These have such tough-guy-meets-girly-appeal. I’m seriously in love with them and am dying to wear them with a cute pair of short baggy denim shorts, and a light flowy tank.

I want these guys to be the everyday sandle. You know, the flip flops that you begin to wear with everything, even your nicest summer dress. These will definitely be summer’s new everyday flat!

Miu Miu Studded T-Strap, Barneys.com, $575

There’s just something I love about these flats from Miu Miu. Perhaps it’s the embellished-but-not-overdone stones on the toe, or maybe the studded details that have got me lusting after them. I can’t pick a favorite element!

Manolo Blahnik Faleri, Barneys.com, $825

Manolo Blahnik Faleri, Barneys.com, $825

I’ve never been one to indulge in the Manolo Blahnik craze. Perhaps it’s because I could never afford them, nor did I ever feel like I couldn’t live without a pair of his shoes. However, I’m feeling a change of heart. There is something these shoes have that makes my heart skip a beat. I’m dying to wear them with boyfriend jeans, a see through white tee, and a long casual cardigan. I can imagine the feeling I’ll get when putting these on: love, strength, power and energy. Oh beauteous shoes, you will be mine.

Stellar Sale Alert!

November 3rd, 2009 by Catherine

I’ve long regarded Barney’s as the ultimate window shopping destination. During my years in Manhattan, I’d often stroll around the stores immaculate floors, soaking up the style and dreaming of ways to recreate it on my itty bitty budget. Sales were rare, so when the company launched a massive beauty sale online, you can bet I headed to the site the first chance I got. Loaded with beauty booty from this works and Vincent Longo, the products are marked so far down, it almost feels illegal to be buying things at such a discount. Almost.

So check out my current obsessions below and chime in with your own top picks from this awesome sale!

Daily Diamond: Black, white and red all over.

I’m on a quest for the perfect shoe to wear to a bunch of upcoming weddings and unfortunately, all my go-to stores have nothing remotely chic enough to be called my own. Well, this was the case until I came across these ravishing Christian Louboutin pumps.

Available at Barney’s, the crepe satin d’orsay pump is accessorized with a beautiful side bow that sweeps over the entire front of the shoe. Appropriate for any occasion, these $900 elegant heels are unattainable, high-caloric morsels of goodness.

But come on - do you think that a designer can create a fashionable shoe that isn’t 4 inches high?
