About Chic-Thrills.com:

There are a few simple things that take our breath away – a good kiss is one, a delicious home-cooked meal is another, and as for a good sale…well, we find it difficult to top that rush. And while we’re sure a bottle of Cristal and a closet full of Manolo Blahnik’s are lovely, we don’t believe the good life does not have to come with a hefty price tag.

When it comes to living well and spending wisely, we’ve learned a thing or two from personal experiences. The best things in life aren’t always found on the middle shelf, they don’t always have the highest price tag, and they most certainly won’t have you eating Ramen forever. We believe life is a balance between the highs and the lows, and with this in mind, Chic-Thrills.com took flight. Our website is one made out of love for hard work and compromise, but most importantly, it’s an outlet for us to share the tips and tricks of being chic, poised, and in-the-know, all while leaving our charge cards at home and our checkbooks balanced.

Live well. Spend Wisely.

About Ruth:

Ever since I was seven years old, I would spend nights absorbing the ad campaigns and fashion pages of my favorite magazine, W. I dreamed of wrapping myself and future home in the plush luxury found on every page of the fanciful publication. However, after getting my first job at the ripe age of 14, I quickly learned the value of the dollar. I realized I was going to have to work hard and save in order to provide myself with these materialistic items. My mother, the ever supportive chicskate guru, taught me how to emulate these looks without spending beyond my means. Through the years, I learned that with confidence, poise, and my innate fashion sense, I could create all these looks, for a whole lot less. Chic-Thrills.com provides me the ability to share over a decade worth of tips and tricks of how to look like a splurge by buying the steals.

Our favorite Chicskate moments:

“While on a quest for a hot dress for a swanky NYC wedding at Capitale, I stumbled upon the most beautiful dress at the Burberry store at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets. As if tailored for me, I slipped into the delectable dress and immediately knew it was meant to be. After looking at the price tag, I realized I was about to snag a $2,500 dress for less than a quarter of the price.”

“My mother, my favorite shopping partner, and I were scouring the Macys rack when she ran up to me and flashed a hippy chic dress in my face. I immediately fell in love with the vibrant, colorful, maxi-style, floor-length dress and had to have it. After scanning the bar code through the nifty price machine, we learned that thanks to the steep discount notorious of Macy’s sales and my little red Macys charge card, I practicly got the dress for a five-finger discount! I paid $30 for a $150 dress. Victory!”
