After featuring this sweet print back in February, I’ve had the cutesy expression on my mind, without a place to hang it. Since I’m all for a bit of silly in everyday life, I’ve gone ahead and bought this poster to frame for my new place, where I plan to hang it in our teeny-tiny entryway as a sweet reminder of love.

It’s always a sad day when a beloved item has its last moment of wear. I’ve long been without a dressy watch for this very reason, and with my new job’s start date looming ahead, it’s time (no pun intended) for a new one. After reading countless reviews, I’ve narrowed down all my choices to this one from Michael Kors. I love its oversized face and simple design that’ll work with absolutely anything I choose to wear. I feel like my first day of school is quickly approaching with all the outfit planning I’ve done for my first day. This watch will definitely be part of whatever ensemble I choose.

While searching for a set of bedroom lamps, I fell in love with this crystal one from Bed Bath & Beyond, but thought $200 for two lights was a bit steep for my budget-friendly bedroom. So off I trailed to Target, where I landed two similar lamps for $79.98 total! The website doesn’t have this particular model listed, but my local store had plenty available. The lamp pictured above is almost identical to the one I’ve bought. I’m setting them on top of existing side tables that I’m sprucing up a bit with a fresh coat of turquoise paint, for a look that’s not too bold, but super chic. I’ve become quite the picky consumer when it comes to choosing a new lip gloss. It must provide adequate shine, without looking like I’ve coated my lips in glass. It shouldn’t be too tacky, so in the event I’m caught in a windstorm, my hair won’t end up shellacked to my face. And as a bonus, it should taste good, although it’s not a high-priority requirement. I tried Fresh’s Sugar Pin-Up Lip Gloss over the weekend after honing in on the gorgeous crimson hue. I rarely wear bold lips, but have gradually begun to incorporate them into everyday life. This gloss is the perfect starter for the timid, because it gives just enough color to look polished, without the worry of looking too bold. And yes, it just so happens to taste like a lemon dipped in sugar. Yum!
Throughout the winter, I tend to complain about how dry my skin gets with the lack of humidity in the air. Given that my skin is dry to begin with, barometric fluxes tend to wreak havoc, generally making my skin feel tight and itchy. In addition to moisturizing daily, I also keep Neutrogena’s Body Oil close at hand. After my nightly shower, I massage this onto my back, legs, arms, and chest, slip into my PJs, and am guaranteed to wake up silky-soft come morning. I adore its delicate scent, but for all you perfume haters, the formula comes fragrance-free, too.

There’s nothing more luxurious than a luscious bar of lathering soap. And after taking a soap making class with Sarah from Goldie’s at The Brooklyn Kitchen, my boyfriend and I have a new found respect for the art. However, until I can learn how to muster the courage to make it myself, I’m sticking with other homemade soaps.
That said, I got my hands on a bar of VMV Hypoalergenics Glykeros Lift Off Scrubbing Body Bar. After one shower, I was hooked! This little bar of heaven transforms into a creamy, fluffy lather that scrubbed and cleansed my skin with mild bamboo crystals and little spheres of cirebelle beads. I got out of my shower feeling clean, refreshed, and lightly scented. I HIGHLY recommend giving this little guy a shot.

My train of thought seems to loop these days on one theme only: home design. Stumbling upon interior designers’ websites doesn’t help much either. These homes, created by the team from California’s WaterLeaf Interiors, are nothing short of elegant and stunning, and unfortunately, completely out of my own interior design budget. At least I can seek inspiration for my own home!

I’m all about big, fun, affordable accessories for the spring and summer seasons. And when I came across the above fabulous ring and watch, I fell in love!
As you can see, I paired it with a simple ivory dress and boyfriend blazer with rolled sleeves. The burst of green in the watch and blue in the ring were just enough to spruce up my look and take to the next level. I cannot begin to tell you how many compliments I’ve received thus far. Apartment hunting went really well this weekend and we’re thisclose to signing our lease, subletting the unit from a couple looking to move immediately. We’re waiting for a few documents to come through, and then we’ll be set to move! So now comes the fun part – decorating a blank slate.
After falling in love with this rug from West Elm, I immediately launched into an intensive search for something much more affordable. This one from Overstock.com is similar enough in design, and although it’s not the sunny yellow I was after, the blue is much more boy-friendly.
I adore its bold patterns and goes-with-anything palette, but the price is what truly sold me. At $126.99, it’s a total steal that’s going to break up our white carpet, hide a multitude of sins through a high-traffic area, and create a cozy focal point in our sweet little home.
