Drink up.

Leaf Teacup and Saucer, ZipperGifts.com, $16

For the past few days, I’ve been trying hard to kick a cold before it turns into something worthy of a doctor visit. And, surprisingly enough – mission accomplished! My secret? Drinking plenty of hot Theraflu and tea and sucking on more than my fair share of Zicam.

During this time, I realized that there is nothing more comforting than a favorite tea cup or coffee mug. It brings a sense of warmth, encouraging you to slow down, cuddle up, and drink more liquids. Luckily for me, I received the above tea cup as a gift earlier this holiday season.

It has all the bells an whistles of an important cup. It’s wide enough for a two hand grip; deep enough for about two servings of liquid; and creates a calming mood with smooth textured grooves and a zen color.

If you want to stay well this cold, cough and flu season, make sure you are armed with a favorite tea cup or mug.

Rachel Comey Pyramid Cardigan, Forward by Revolve, $363

Rachel Comey Pyramid Cardigan, Forward by Revolve, $363

Lately, sex appeal has been made simple with comfortable fashion that doesn’t show a lot of skin. Instead of baring shoulders in strapless frocks, the rich and famous opt to cover their necks and shoulders with Balmain inspired blazers.

Similarly, Rachel Comey has created a cult following for her well-crafted, men inspired shoes and her fashionable comfort. Featured above, Rachel Comey’s Pyramid Cardigan is at the top of my wish list. Made in Peru with 100% alpaca, this cozy, textured, zippered cardigan is screaming for me to come and get it!

Crunchy cabbage.

While sifting through my beloved New York Times Sunday Style Section, I came across the above image and felt inspired to weave cabbage into my diet. Naturally low in fat and high in fiber, cabbage is packed with vitamins and minerals that cleanse the body, promote heart health, protect from cancers, and raise serotonin levels.

I came across this super easy, delicious Bobby Flay recipe, Crunchy Noodle Salad with Cabbage and Peanut Sauce. The sesame oil is balanced by the vinegar and the red pepper gives it a kick while the cilantro adds a burst of freshness.

Check out the ridiculously easy recipe after the jump!

A man’s best friend.

While I’m not one to spend much money on my pup, I’ve come across one product that I plan to indulge in – it’s the Almond Exfoliating Scrub from Prince Lorenzo Borghese’s Royal Treatment Pet Spa – I know, it’s a mouthful!

Anyways, a friend of mine could not stop raving about it. She swore that unlike the standard shampoo and conditioner found at pet shops, this was a magical potion that transforms the coat into softest fur – but all I keep thinking was, “Why does a dog need a $15 scrub, or a scrub at all?”

Well chicskates, after some persistence, I was intrigued and decided to purchase the scrub and after washing Roscoe (that’s my puppy) with it, I am now a believer. It leaves the coat incredibly smooth, soft and cuddly. If you’re a pet lover like me, go ahead and try this scrub – it’s worth every penny!
