And you say.

December 21st, 2009 by Ruth

There’s this part of me that sometimes wishes I hadn’t gone through with LASIK eye surgery. Occassionally, I miss expressing myself with frames; I could be trendy, smart, artistic, fashion forward, intriguing – all with the flick of a wrist. And after I hear the news that Lisa Loeb partnered with Classique to bring iconic eyewear to the masses, I’m truly bummed.

Launching in 2010, this collabo is more than 10 years too late for me. However, for those of you who still need some help seeing, I feel excited for you. Presented as a line featuring frames for every face at any age, for any occassion, this eyewear collection touts a wide spectrum of styles. From classic lines to tortoise shell and from the bold and colorful to the complementing colors, there’s something suitable for every four-eyed chicskate. Now, I wonder what the price point will be….

Spoonful of Comfort, Chicken Soup, $32

Spoonful of Comfort, Chicken Soup, $32

Show someone you care this holiday season and gift them a  batch of homemade chicken noodle soup. New to the scene, Spoonful of Comfort, delivers old-fashioned, homemade chicken soup (just like mom made!) to anyone, anywhere in the country.

All-natural, the $32 gift of soup is beautifully packaged in a 64 ounce Mason jars and is accompanied with a silver ladle. You can also throw in some fresh rolls and homemade oatmeal cookies for an extra special treat.

Creator of Spoonful of Comfort, Marti, started the company in 2007 when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Because distance separated them, she sent her chicken soup as comfort. Sadly, she lost her mom six weeks after she was diagnosed. Now, she sells her soup in hopes of helping others. Get a jar (or 3) here.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Cheek Tint, $22.00

Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Cheek Tint, $22.00

Most of the Northeast was slammed with a wickedly bad snowstorm, causing Saturday night plans to be put on hold for fear of car accidents and the like. No party? No problem for me. While housebound with my boyfriend, I refused to let the night go to waste and dolled myself up for movies and drinks in our living room. My blush of choice for cold winter nights? Something creamy and easy-peasy to apply when you don’t want to put a whole lot of effort into your look, but want to appear as though you have. My blush of choice for such an evening? Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Color Cheek Tint is the perfect pick-me-up for pale winter faces. The swivel-up stick makes application simple (read: no more dipping fingertips into pots of cream color), the formula glides on effortlessly, looks beyond natural, and lasts forever. And by forever, I mean you’ll be ringing in next year as well, rocking your soon-to-be-favorite blush.

And if you’re one of the few Chicskates I know escaping the winter for warmer weather, it’s a great addition to your makeup bag. Doubling as a lip tint as well, you’ll look island chic with minimal effort.
