Repetto Ballerina Glitter, Bergdorf Goodman, $240

Channel daughter of Keith Richards and Patti Hansen,  Alexandra Richards when you purchase your next pair of ballet flats. As seen in the New York Times Sunday Style Section, Karin Nelson reported that Miss Richards is more than happy to borrow her clothing from mom and dad but recently purchased high heeled dance shoes at the Repetto store in Paris.

While I’m less likely to wear high heels because of my 5’10″ stature, I’m definitely into their ballet flats. Repetto’s Glitter Ballerina shoe are made up to a size 11 and come in black and a luscious purple.

Available at Bergdorf Goodman for $240, I think I’ll have to ask Santa for these!

Style & Co. Trees Bedding

Style & Co. Trees Bedding

Diving into deep holiday discounts, I trekked out to Macys at 7am earlier this morning to experience my first Black Friday. Previously seen on CasaSugar, I was on the hunt for the Style & Co. Trees bedding collection so I headed straight to the home department.

Low and behold, I found the Standard and Euro Pillowshams on sale! Originally$60 and $70 respectively, the prices were significantly reduced to $12 and $18! Snagged at approximately 1/5 of the price, my couch will go from drab to fab with four shams for a total of $30!

Not too shabby for my first Black Friday experience! In my opinion, it was well worth it!

Let the Friends and Family Sales Begin!

November 26th, 2009 by Catherine

Being the holiday tradition junkie that I am, it just wouldn’t feel like Thanksgiving without a surge of Family & Friends sales from stores large and small alike. My top pick this year is from skincare giant Kiehl’s. With hundreds of products to pick from, you and your gift list should be covered, all at 20% off. Web shoppers will also nab free shipping on top of their discount with the code FAMILY. Another bonus – no Black Friday crowds to contend with. We all know how much I hate combative shopping…

Game on. Let the shopping begin.

Holly jolly.

Daily Diamond: Glenda Cuff by Erickson Beamon

Glenda Cuff by Erickson Beamon, $475.00

I may be old enough to know better about Santa, but I still can’t help it if I wished his elves would hook a girl up. This cuff from Erickson Beamon is beyond Zoe-style-bananas. Made from Japanese glass pearls, Swarovski crystals, and 24k gold and sterling silver plating, I’ve fallen head-over-heels for this dramatic, updated take on a traditional bracelet. Unfortunately for me, I don’t think this is within anyone’s holiday budget, Santa included.

Chic Gifts: Floral Tiered Apron

Floral Tiered Apron, $24.95

Floral Tiered Apron, $24.95

Within my own circle of friends, a whole bunch just moved homes. Some moved in with their boyfriends, others switched up apartments for a breath of fresh air. Whatever their cause for moving, I’d like to celebrate their new places with a sweet, retro-inspired gift from Pier 1 Imports. Charmingly retro, this apron’s bold pattern makes it modern enough to avoid the whole 50s housewife getup. I just think an apron screams domestic goddess without ever having to prove you can whip up a 7 course meal a la Top Chef.

Such a LUSH.

November 25th, 2009 by Catherine

My mom, ever the gracious hostess, tends to go slightly overboard when making her guests feel comfortable in our house. This Thanksgiving, when we host a few friends for the weekend, is no exception. The house is already spotless. And the menu has been planned for weeks. Sleeping arrangements have been handled, extra towels and blankets stocked up. As for our special “GUESTS ONLY” bathroom supplies? They have a better selection of soaps and bath treats that I do on a regular day!

Charity Pot Hand & Body Lotion, $20.45

Charity Pot Hand & Body Lotion, $20.45

Good thing she hasn’t come across this hand and body cream from LUSH. I’ve stashed it aside for my own selfish non-guest needs. Made with all-natural ingredients (like every product under the LUSH umbrella), it’s a rich cream that smoothes and soothes my Sahara-esque skin. And with every pot purchased, you’re donating to causes in need, like The International Fund for Animal Welfare. With the spirit of Thanksgiving (and charity) in mind, maybe I’ll have to share this around with our guests. Maybe.
