Lately, I’ve been bit hard by the travel bug. I don’t know whether it is the late nights at work or the endless rain we’ve been having in New York, but I’ve been daydreaming of Grecian Islands and Costa Rican rainforests for weeks. If you’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to get out of town (wherever your town may be), I highly recommend checking out the website Kayak.com. Kayak is a one-stop, sale shop of discounted flights, hotels, and general vacation deals from all over the web. The site is designed to supply users with the best deals possible and even offers a comparison to other travel sites. It may not be helping my itch to explore the world, but it’s still fun to dream. Bon Voyage!

September 16th, 2009 by RuthDaily Diamond: World’s Best Cookies
September 16th, 2009 by Catherine
Listen, anyone who claims to make the world’s best cookie will automatically have my attention. I’ll only question their claims after I’ve done some (personal) research. The folks responsible for stocking such great products at W’s Store must feel pretty confident in their own abilities to sell The World’s Best Cookies. Available in packages of 30 for $18, I’ve tried them myself and fully support their claims. Seriously delicious and worth every penny, I’ve fallen seriously in love with these confectionary delights, and have no doubt you will too! Find them here and send to anyone in need of some love!
The Best-o Pesto Pasta.
September 16th, 2009 by CatherineI’m a sucker for a good, hearty bowl of pasta. And when it’s topped off with a great sauce, it’s just heavenly! I tried out a recipe from Better Homes & Gardens and was blown away by how delicious the meal was! Super simple to make and chock full of yummy veggies, I could have sworn it came from Mario Batalli’s very own kitchen. Check out the recipe below and let me know how it turns out! (more…)
Hats off.

As the cold mornings continue to slowly come through, I find myself increasingly excited to cozy up under a fashionable hat and soft sleek scarf this fall. While I’m not much of a fedora person, I’ve uncovered this phenomenal piece from echo. Made of a wool blend with a knit brim and bow, this fedora is a sensational way to stay stylish all season long – and for only $48.
Keep your neck and chest warm with echo’s abstract metallic muffler. This sensational scarf is absolutely stunning and catches the light with metallic flecks. Perfect for a stroll in the park, you’ll be cozy and chic for less than $50.
A Tale of Two Vibrators
September 16th, 2009 by RuthIf I was stranded on a deserted island and could only have one makeup item on hand, mine would be mascara. Most pick lipgloss or even foundation, but I never leave the house without mascara. For a girl who usually gets less than 8 hours sleep a night, using mascara is the only way for me to fake a wide-eyed, “Betty Boop” look. So when I heard Lancome was coming out with a vibrating (!) mascara guaranteed to take my peepers to new heights, I was itching to get my hands on it like a mascara crazed junkie. That was, of course, until I found out the Oscillation mascara was going to set me back about $34. Needless to say, I gave in and considered it my “Daily Diamond.” Months later, Maybelline swooped in like a cheap and chic superhero and saveed me from my new expensive obsession with their Pulse Perfection mascara for about $12.
But could the drugstore version compare? Oscillation has an incredible way of making my lashes longer than I’ve ever thought possible, and admittedly, Pulse Perfection left my lashes a little clumpier than I would have liked, but did manage to lengthen and build volume. Bottom line – if you can’t splurge on the $34 dollars, Pulse comes in a very close second.
