Maybe it’s because I hail from New Jersey, but I just love a good sequined accessory. When done right, it’s far from the tacky images you may have in mind, like this one from Prada. Not at all Bedazzler-esque, right? At $3695 it’s no DIY purse, but it just screams sophistication (and quietly brings me back to my Jersey days). Place your order now because I doubt this baby will last on shelves for long.

August 19th, 2009 by CatherineI dared myself last week to try and make a meal for under $2 to see if it was possible (and not come from the Ramen section of my grocery store). Well, I’d like to officially declare myself victorious (and super full) in my personal challenge! Care to know what I discovered? Read on…
The stuff man dreams are made of.
August 19th, 2009 by Catherine

Somewhere, my boyfriend is daydreaming about this...
My boyfriend, like most men, is obsessed with flat screen TVs. I can’t take him into Best Buy anymore; it’s like taking a kid to a toy shop. He’ll fawn over every model, justifying the cost (we’re talking a couple grand!) with plans for movie screenings and football games with friends, plus all the Real Housewives marathons I could ever want. Sure, it’s his money, but it’s a lot of money if you ask me. But when someone so desperately wants (or needs, depending on who you ask) something, it’s only fair to find a way to budget and save for it.
So what’s the quickest way he could save some cash for the make and model he dreams about every night? Quit buying lunch every day of the week. Spending $8 a day (which, let’s be serious, is a very lowball estimate of what a lunch plus drinks cost), will total $2080 a year, enough money to score this 47″ LCD-LED TV, which, from what I understand listening to my boyfriend, is man-speak for “truly awesome television”. My point? If there’s something that you truly feel you can’t live life without, take a look and your daily spending habits. Frequently buying something you can very likely make at home adds up to big savings (and a sweet TV).
Coming this fall: Fresh breath that lasts all season long!
August 19th, 2009 by Catherine
Anyone who’s spoken to someone with bad breath can attest to how truly awful the experience is. Did you really want to smell what they had for lunch? Probably not. It’s just downright disgusting.
The folks at Scope must have had one too many encounters with such people to have created their genius new mouthwash called Outlast. Created to banish bad breath five times longer than brushing alone, it will be available in two different flavors for powerful germ resistance. After this morning’s cup of coffee, I still can taste the minty freshness. Ahh!
Set your Outlook calendars now to pick yours up at drugstores everywhere for under $6.
Found: Perfect summer-to-fall work skirt.
August 19th, 2009 by Catherine
As the summer nears its end, I can’t help but want to hold on to the season as long as possible. While browsing in the Gap this weekend, I came across this lovely skirt that will look fab against my tanned legs now, but equally chic with some tights and boots come fall. I adore the bow belt and pockets and it slightly reminds me of Shelley Long’s getups in Troop Beverly Hills. Khaki chic is quite clearly here to stay…
Marked down to $24.99 from $44.50, it’s on sale now, but surely won’t last long so snatch yours up quickly!
