To not spend a dime this weekend. Quite a challenge, no? If you’re like me, you save the weekends for errand-running, but why not take a minute to slow down and just enjoy one of our few remaining summer weekends? I’ve said it before, but in case you need reminding, life is just simpler in the summer. You don’t have to spend a fortune just for a good time. Below are just a few of my ideas for a cheap and cheerful weekend ahead… Happy Friday!
- Catch lightening bugs.
- Watch the sun set.
- Raid your pantry and see what you can make with what’s there.
- Lounge around reading a good book.
- Borrow a movie from a friend and camp out in your living room.
- Stroll through a local antique shop to browse for design inspiration.
- Clean out your closet to make room for cute fall and winter
If anyone is up for the challenge, please feel free to report back on your experience!
Apart from my trusty running sneakers, I haven’t worn close-toed shoes since May. Even with the soggy summer my beloved East Coast has had, I refuse to wear anything but sandals and flip-flops until the fall. It’s just my favorite right of summer.
Happy jetting, indeed. It just got a whole lot easier to explore with
